Senior outside hitter Courtney Gernert, a graphic design major from Palmyra, has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 7.  Gernert helped the Lady Wildcats to a 3-0 week, recording double-doubles against Keystone College, Penn State Harrisburg and King’s College.  In the team’s tri-match on Saturday, she tallied 14 kills against King’s, which came into the match undefeated. She totaled 15 kills in her best match of the week against Keystone. This is Gernert’s first NEAC honor of the year. So far this season, she leads Penn College and the NEAC in kills with 76. She is second in the conference in both points (87.5) and points per set (4.0). Gernert and the Lady Wildcats get back into action at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, when they host Alfred (New York) State.
