Worlds of fun intersect in trampoline dodgeball.Phi Mu Delta gathers to celebrate a successful charity fundraiser at the Elmira Street attraction.Penn College's Phi Mu Delta fraternity chapter recently held a "Jump for St. Jude," charity event at the Fly World trampoline park in Williamsport to benefit the St. Jude Research Hospital. The fraternity had been planning the event for the entire semester and was very eager to see how well it would go, as this is the first time its members have worked with Fly World. Phi Mu Delta set up promotion tables around campus spreading the word about the benefit, as well as selling specially created T-shirts. The event itself consisted of a Basket Raffle, dunk contests and T-shirt sales to help raise money for its national philanthropic partner. The event was hugely successful, organizers said, seeing support from not only the students of Penn College, but also faculty/staff and the Greater Williamsport community. The grand total that Phi Mu Delta raised from the event was upwards of $1,300, aided by Fly World's $650 donation of half the admission proceeds back to the fundraiser. “With so much dedication from all of the fraternity brothers, the organizations and companies who donated raffle baskets, and the Fly World staff, we were able to make this a smash hit and plan on making it an annual event,” said Paul M. Lasell, chapter president and a plastics and polymer engineering technology major from Williamsport.
