Wildcat archery coach Chad Karstetter works with campers Scouts gauge the lay of the land Penn's Woods provide a vast learning environment Jake Richards, a fire specialist with the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' South Williamsport office, visits with campers outside the ESC Area Boy Scouts experienced the outdoor laboratory of Penn College's Schneebeli Earth Science Center during Forestry Youth Camp from June 11-13. The Allenwood-area campus offered a variety of fun and informative hands-on activities fora dozen 14- to 16-year-olds, including an introduction to forest measurements, global positioning, forest-fire management, kiln-drying of lumber, wildlife appreciation, a look at Pennsylvania's rich forest history and archery instruction.
