'Cat TalesMen's Basketball Opening the season against NCAA Division III opponents in a tournament at Susquehanna University, the Wildcats fell to the host team on the opening night and then lost to City College of New Jersey, Penn College coach Gene Bruno's alma mater, in the consolation. Against Susquehanna, Craig Flint (Port Allegany) scored 13 points for the Wildcats, while Joe Simon (Renovo) and Tom Little (Beacon Falls, Conn.) each added 12 points. Against CCNJ, Ryan Scott (Dallastown) scored 15 points and Rob Valentin (Lebanon) chipped in with 10.

Women's BasketballFacing Penn State Hazleton in its opener, the same team it edged for the Penn State University Athletic Conference championship at the end of last season, Penn College lost despite a 16-point effort from Amanda Ault (Milan), a transfer from East Stroudsburg.
