Scholarship applications are being accepted for the Fall 2007 semester, notes Pennsylvania College of Technology's director of financial aid, who encourages eligible new and current students to apply online. "Scholarships are a major focus for students attending Penn College," Dennis L. Correll said. "This year, we awarded $700,000 worth of scholarships to more than 600 students. We receive phone calls every day asking about scholarship opportunities and how to apply. The Web site is an easy way to search and apply. Students may apply to as many as they wish, as long as they meet the criteria."

Correll said it takes a bit of homework to evaluate each scholarship's criteria and to determine if a particular scholarship fits a student's major and background, but it is well worth the effort. "Many generic search engines can provide scholarship opportunities, but when you apply for Penn College scholarships that are awarded only to Penn College students, your chances are even greater of receiving an award," he said.
