'Field Day' Winners Crowned

Hammaker, Fitness Center supervisor)Mike Murzynski, a Construction Management student from Erie; and Elizabeth Brown, a Culinary Arts Technology student from Sayre, were the men's and women's overall winners in Tuesday's first "Penn College Field Day."

In the Women's Division, Brown won the push-ups (36), sit-ups (38) and shuttle run (11.3 seconds).

In the Men's Division, ribbons were given to the top three places, and points toward the overall title were awarded to the top five:

  • Push-ups: Dan Riley, 104, first; Alan Lovell, 98, second; Murzynski, 76, third; Travis Doebler, 63, fourth; and Troy Glasgow, 57, fifth.
  • Sit-ups: Doebler, 58, first; David Felter, 48, second; Alan Lovell, 47, third; Murzynski, 45, fourth; and Troy Glasgow, 44, fifth.
  • Shuttle Run: Murzynski, 8.8 seconds, first; Felter, 9.21, second; Riley, 9.91, third; Doebler, 10.0, fourth; Lovell, 10.2, fifth.

Derrick Kuhn, Physical Fitness Specialist intern at the Fitness Center, developed the idea for the "Field Day" contest and helped Kristi L. Hammaker, Fitness Center supervisor, run the event.
