Fallen Serviceman's Family Presents College With Flag Photo

Carlson Penn College representatives this week received a solemn memento from the family of Marine Lance Cpl. Abram L. Howard, who was killed in July while on duty in Afghanistan. His mother, Constance, presented the college with a photo of the large American flag which normally flies near the Student and Administrative Services Center that was displayed atthe serviceman's funeral and burial. At the presentation were college President Davie Jane Gilmour and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Work Study Program students Blaine M. Cohick (U.S. Army National Guard), Stephanie A. Dimon (U.S. Air Force) and John C. Carlson (U.S. Navy, retired).
