Faculty Member Elected to Accrediting Commission

Nancy A. Grausam, assistant professor of education and early childhood education at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently was elected to serve on the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools' Commission on Elementary Schools.
The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools is an internationally recognized leader in accreditation of schools both in the Mid-Atlantic region and around the world. It is one of the six regional accrediting agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
The Middle States Association Commission on Elementary Schools one of three MACS commissions works with public and private schools that serve an elementary-age population, providing accreditation protocols to schools since 1978.
Grausam was selected for a three-year term on the commission, through which she serves on its Membership and Accreditation Committee and its Early Age Advisory Board.
At Penn College, Grausam has served on the Middle States Outcomes Assessment Committee, was a member of the executive steering committee for accreditation of the college's Children's Learning Center by MACS, and is one of three faculty members serving on the Middle States Self-Study Steering Committee as the college prepares for review of its accreditation with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in the 2011-12 academic year.
Grausam has taught full time at Penn College since 1993. She holds a master's degree from Rutgers University and earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
