Fabrication Firm Establishes Scholarship for Penn College Students

Cameron Manufacturing & Design, of Horseheads, N.Y., has established a new scholarship fund for students at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
The scholarship will benefit a full-time student, with first preference given to a student in welding and fabrication engineering technology, machine tool technology, or welding technology who resides in Allegany, Broome, Chemung, Steuben or Tioga counties in New York or in Bradford, McKean, Potter, Susquehanna or Tioga counties in Pennsylvania.
Second preference will be given to students from those counties who are majoring in manufacturing engineering technology, engineering design technology, electronics and computer engineering technology, engineering CAD technology, electrical technology, or electromechanical maintenance technology.
The scholarship will begin making annual awards in 2013-14 while building to become endowed. Once the scholarship is fully endowed, earnings will provide perpetual annual awards.
Cameron Manufacturing & Design, a leading producer of metal fabrications, weldments, custom machinery and engineering services, employs graduates of Penn College and Williamsport Area Community College, its immediate predecessor. The firm is a regular attendee at the college’s Career Fairs, where it continues to recruit graduates.
“As a responsible community partner, we at Cameron Manufacturing & Design wanted to find a way to financially help students in the Twin Tiers choosing a technical path, to pursue it and put it to use in our industry,” said President and CEO Christopher Goll. “What better educational partner to help us in this mission than Penn College.”
