Energy-Saving Tips Can Reduce Heating Costs, Too

From the Public Utility Commission, via Jim Green and the Energy Conservation Subcommittee of Penn College, come these timelyreminders forreducing heating costs in winter: Sealing air leaks is the first and most important stepfor comfort. (Air leaks in and out around plumbing and wiring, around windows and doors, and where walls meet ceilings). Lack of adequate weatherstripping can cost $50 or more a year in lost energy costs. It takes far less energy to lower the thermostat and raise it later than to keep it at the same setting at all times. Stay warmAND savemoney and energy!
