Dogs Barking About Pet and Pumpkin Party


Shelby the Schoolgirl Sophie the Penn State Fan Layla the Clown Lady the Rugby Player Penn College students and pet owners alike showed up for an evening of canine camaraderie and pumpkin carving last week. About 30 students came to carve pumpkins; enjoy pumpkin pie, apple cider and roasted pumpkin seeds; and enter their dressed-up pets in the costume contest. Community Assistants Kim Hummel and Andrew Christoffel (who provided these photos) were very pleased with the turnout of the event and the enthusiasm shown by those attending. Among the night’s winners, from left, Shelby the Schoolgirl, with Jennifer Payne, chosen as “Cutest;” Sophie the Penn State Fan, with Jessie Cunkleman and James Langan, voted “Most Spirited;” Layla the Clown, selected as “Funniest,” pictured with Jeanette Link and Daniel Kopey; and Lady the Rugby Player, pictured with caretaker George King, chosen as “Most Sporty.”
