Diversity/Cultural Life Coordinator Named at Penn College

Sammie L. Davis has begun work as the coordinator of diversity and cultural life at Penn College.

“I am thrilled to have Sammie join our newest Student Affairs department: Campus & Community Engagement," said Katie L. Mackey, department director. "She displays a true passion for working in the area of diversity and social justice. The depth of her experiences in her graduate work, coupled with her student-centered approach to higher education, will undeniably have a positive impact on our campus community."



Sammie L. DavisDavis will work to develop, coordinate and evaluate activities and programs that enhance the quality of student life. Specifically, she will formulate campuswide diversity programming initiatives and work to provide support and advocacy to students from underrepresented groups and other identified special populations.

A recent graduate of Montclair State University in New Jersey, she earned a Masters of Art in counseling with a concentration in student affairs. She completed her undergraduate degree at Centenary College in Hackettstown, New Jersey, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in fashion with a concentration in design.

She was employed as a teacher’s assistant at Montclair State in a graduate-level course – Diversity Issues in Higher Education – and completed her graduate internship at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in the Diversity Programs Office.
