Director of Strategic Planning/Research Begins Duties at College

Pennsylvania College of Technology recently named Dr. John J. Kehoe as its director of strategic planning and research.

Kehoe, a New Jersey native, comes to Penn College from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, where he was a higher-education research analyst responsible for a number of statewide programs and initiatives under the deputy secretary for postsecondary and higher education.

Before that, Kehoe served as an associate director for the National Center for Postsecondary Teaching, Learning and Assessment, a national research and development center funded by the U.S. Department of Education and located at The Pennsylvania State University.

Kehoe also has served as a special assistant to the executive vice president at the University of Pennsylvania and as finance and planning director for the Louisiana Board of Trustees for State Colleges and Universities.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Seton Hall University and a master’s degree in secondary education from Boston University. After military service, Kehoe continued his graduate studies in Pennsylvania, receiving his Ph.D. in educational administration from Penn State.

“As a staff organization, Strategic Planning and Research must be responsive to its campus constituencies in providing timely reports, studies and responses to information requests from the administration and other mission-related campus entities,” Kehoe said. “I will strive to maintain the fine record of service this office provides to the College community while working with the administration and long-range planning committees to produce information that will help to shape and inform institutional policy.”

Kehoe resides in State College with his wife and two daughters. Another daughter lives in San Diego.
