Director Named at Technology Transfer Center

Pennsylvania College of Technology has announced the appointment of Dennis E. Gilbert as director of the Technology Transfer Center.

A Williamsport native, Gilbert is a Penn College alumnus with a degree in computer science. He has more than 14 years of technology-related experience, with the past 10 years in a technology business-management capacity.

"Dennis' background in manufacturing, sales, marketing, production, operations and accounting will fit nicely with TTC's needs and the needs of our clients," said Larry L. Michael, associate dean for the Technology Transfer Center.

For the past four years, Gilbert was general manager for New MMI Corp., serving as the key local executive of that firm. He has an extensive background in manufacturing, sales, marketing, operations, finance and information systems.

Gilbert will assist in managing the day-to-day activities of the TTC, including development and management of grants; research and development projects for business and industry; development and management of training programs, seminars, and consulting services; and assisting in the management of costs and budgets.

Gilbert's office is at the new TTC location in the Business and Technology Resource Center on Reach Road.

The TTC offers noncredit education for the public.Courses provide upgrading, training and development to enhance opportunities for individuals in their job duties, career advancement and personal development.
