Demonstration by Accomplished Cake Decorator Held on Campus

Cake decorator Bartolo 'Buddy' Valestro Jr. demonstrates his craft Monday night Accomplished cake decorator Bartolo “Buddy” Valestro Jr., of Carlo’s City Hall Bakery in Hoboken, N.J., offered a demonstration to students, alumni and the public Monday evening. Valestro remained on campus to work with cake-decorating classes Tuesday. Valestro’s work has been featured in Modern Bride magazine, and a Food Network Challenge episode in which he competed, “ Celebration Cakes ,” airs several times through April 1. Valestro, a fourth-generation baker-decorator, learned the craft from his father who bought Carlo’s City Hall Bakery from its founder at a very early age and has carried the art to new heights.
