Dean Selected for Accreditation Team, Reappointed to Review Board

The dean of Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Business and Computer Technologies has been chosen for an institutional accreditation team and reappointed to the editorial review board of a professional journal.
Having led successful Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs accreditation self-studies at Lycoming College and Penn College, Edward A. Henninger was appointed to an ACBSP site-visit team in March.
He and his colleagues spent three days evaluating a business school that is pursuing initial accreditation and validating its self-study. The group's feedback report, an overview of the entire visit and summary of the evaluation team's findings, was included in the packet of materials used by the Board of Commissioners-Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Commission to determine the school’s accreditation status.
Henninger was recently selected to conduct another accreditation site visit during the Fall 2012 semester.
ACBSP, one of three accrediting bodies for business recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, promotes continuous improvement and recognizes excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world.
It recently reaffirmed the accreditation of Penn College’s accounting and business majors for another 10 years.
Henninger was also reappointed to the Editorial Review Board for the Journal of Management Development, produced by Emerald Group Publishing Ltd. in the United Kingdom.
The peer-reviewed journal focuses “on conceptual innovation and practical application to enhance the field of management development thinking, practice and research.”
Its main objective is to provide an international communication medium for those working in the management development field, whether from industry, consulting or academic institutions. Manuscripts are accepted from practitioners, academics and professionals working in private, public and nonprofit organizations.
As a long-standing member of the editorial board, Henninger is responsible for reviewing and evaluating submissions of a conceptual/theoretical nature, which are based on practical experience/research, and which include practical application to management development.
Henninger holds a doctorate from The Pennsylvania State University and master’s and bachelor's degrees from Shippensburg University. He also successfully completed The Institute for Management and Leadership in Higher Education through Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.
