Construction management students from Pennsylvania College of Technology returned April 28 from another fine showing at the Associated Builders and Contractors Student Chapter Construction Management Competition, held again this year in San Antonio.

The team placed second overall for the second year in a row, and also finished second in Project Management and third in Safety.

The second-best team in the nation. a repeat winner for Pennsylvania College of Technology, surely looks the part.Advised by Wayne R. Sheppard, assistant professor of construction management, team members are seniors John M. Kriner (captain), Blake E. Smith, Ryan J. Catena and John I. Ortals, and underclassmen Benjamin J. Stover, Nicholas S. Tomaine, Preston K. Nelson and Lane M. Ackerman.

"The whole team is proud of how we prepared and placed," Kriner said. "The best part of the competition is knowing that other schools look at us as the team to beat. "

The students' Penn College education, coupled with internships, very much prepared them for this event, he added.

The Penn College team crunches numbers, makes memories."I hope that the seniors passed the torch to the underclassmen so that they may finish well in the future," Kriner said. "The key is that, after we graduate, we will be helping them with the competition when we are working.

"I know the seniors from this year will be talking with the competition team next year to help in any way that we can.  Our performance would not be possible without a solid group of driven individuals. "
