Conservation Corps Visits Campus to Learn More About Natural Gas Careers

Cotner shares his expertise with visitors from the Pennsylvania Conservation CorpsMore than 20 members of the Pennsylvania Conservation Corps a statewide program that offers work experience, job training and educational opportunities to young people who complete a variety of projects on public lands within the commonwealth visited Penn College on Monday to learn more about natural gas-related careers in the Marcellus Shale play. Corpsmembers and their crew leaders attended an industry overview in the Center for Business & Workforce Development, visited the welding laboratories in the Avco-Lycoming Metal Trades Center, had lunch in the Keystone Dining Room, and traveled to the Schneebeli Earth Science Center for a tour and a visit to the riverside training ground for heavy construction equipment majors. Another PCC group is scheduled to follow a similar program when it visits Penn College on Friday.
