College Rises in ‘U.S. News’ Ranking of Region’s Top Public Institutions


Penn College has again earned Top 10 status among the best public, four-year colleges in the northern region of the United States in the “Best Colleges” 2014 edition rankings published by U.S. News & World Report.

The college is ranked No. 8 in the category of Top Public Regional Colleges North, up from No. 10 in 2012. In an overall assessment of the Best Regional Colleges North that includes public and private institutions, Penn College is tied at No. 29, up from No. 33 in 2012.

The annual rankings were announced Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report and included in the “2014 Best Colleges” guidebook, available for purchase at newsstands nationwide.

In addition to the rankings, the online and print resources published by U.S. News & World Report provide worldwide access to information on the ranked schools’ locations, size, cost, academic offerings and financial-aid policies.
