College Retirees Bring Continuity’s Thread to Archival Display

The exhibit, which will be displayed on the third floor of the Madigan Library during Homecoming (Oct. 9-11), will feature a retrospective of images from the college and forerunners Williamsport Technical Institute and Williamsport Area Community College. Among those poring over photos Thursday were Nancy J. Schick, who retired in 2004 as secretary to the vice president for student affairs; Judith A. Winder, who retired in 2003 as manager of mail and document services; Beatrice E. Hilliard, secretary to the associate vice president for academic affairs, also a 2003 retiree; Chalmer Van Horn, who taught drafting at all three institutions, from 1962-91; and Fred Gilmour, who retired in 2001 after 20 years (as director of instructional technology and distance learning, an adjunct professor of art and executive director of the Penn College Foundation).
