College Names Dean of Construction and Design Technologies


Marc E. BridgensPennsylvania College of Technology has appointed Marc E. Bridgens dean of the School of Construction and Design Technologies; Anne K. Soucy has been named assistant dean at the school.

Bridgens had been serving as interim dean. He succeeds Tom F. Gregory, who was named associate vice presidentfor instruction at the college.

Bridgens began his service to Penn College in 1990 as a faculty member in the HVAC and plumbing program. He served as department head from 1998-2008 and became assistant dean of construction and design technologies in 2001. In 2008, he agreed to lead the school as interim dean.

He holds a Master of Science in Education (in educational strategies) from Wilkes University, and he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and general science from Lock Haven University.

Anne K. SoucySoucy joined Penn College in 1999 as a faculty member in plastics and polymer engineering technology. In 2004, she moved to the faculty of drafting and CAD technology. There, she gained leadership experience as co-department head and department head. She also has engineering-industry experience with Becton, Dickinson and Co. and TRW Fastening Systems.

She holds a doctorate of engineering (in plastics engineering) and a bachelor’s degree in plastics engineering from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.

“We are delighted that Marc has agreed to continue leading the School of Construction and Design Technologies,” said Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour. “He has served admirably this past year in an interim appointment. His extensive administrative and teaching experience will benefit the school’s students, faculty and staff, and he will be ably supported by Anne Soucy, whose excellent qualifications will enable her to succeed in a new role.”

“I am very pleased that Marc and Anne will serve as the new leadership team for the school,” said Lizabeth S. Mullens, vice president for academic affairs/provost. “Their educational and experiential preparation cover a wide range of programs and will serve well in meeting the current and future needs of our students and the industries in which they will enter.”
