Pennsylvania College of Technology has named Patrick Marty to a senior administrator position overseeing several areas of the institution.

The appointment of Marty – who has held a variety of leadership roles in communications, news and sports media, government relations, the military and private industry – was authorized Thursday by the college’s Board of Directors.

At Penn College, a special mission affiliate of Penn State, Marty will help shape strategy to further advance the institution’s reputation across the region and nation, and will oversee Alumni Relations, Corporate Relations, and Public Relations & Marketing. He will serve on President’s Council.

Previously, Marty served as government relations advisor for Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Williamsport; vice president for J.B. He also served a term as a Williamsport City Council member from 2006 to 2010 and is the co-owner of The (Re)Imagination Group, an adaptive-reuse redevelopment company based in Williamsport and serving Lycoming and Clinton counties.

A former U.S. Army field artillery officer, Marty served in leadership roles while on assignment in Colorado and West Germany.

His Penn College connections include service as a director and former chair of the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation and a board member for the Community Arts Center, a wholly owned subsidiary of the college.

“I am pleased to have Pat join our leadership team,” said President Davie Jane Gilmour. “He brings a wealth of experience and vision to this newly created position that interfaces with the college’s stakeholders, as well as significant influencers. He will be a valued colleague and contributor.”

Marty holds a Master of Science from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in government and international studies and philosophy from the University of Notre Dame.
