Chemistry Professor Named to Honor Societies

A member of the chemistry faculty at Pennsylvania College of Technology has been invited into the membership of two academic honor societies.
Kelly B. Butzler, assistant professor of chemistry at Penn College, who is pursuing a Doctor of Education from Northcentral University, was selected for Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education, as well as the Golden Key International Honour Society.
Butzler was initiated into Northcentral University’s chapter of Kappa Delta Pi in May. KDP is one of the largest and most prestigious education honor societies in the world, established to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching.
In September, the university invited her to join the Golden Key International Honour Society. She qualified by placing in the top 15 percent of her class. Golden Key is a premier honor society with nearly 2 million members worldwide and more than 375 chapters.
Butzler has taught at Penn College for 13 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Gettysburg College, as well as a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in organic chemistry from North Carolina State University. Her doctoral studies are in e-learning.
