Chelsey L. WaymanChelsey L. Wayman, an accounting major from Rome, was chosen as April's Student of the Month by the Student Government Association at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

"Chelsey has been indispensible to TRiO Student Support Services, where she is a peer tutor and coach," her nominator wrote of the Spring 2009 semester's final honoree. "Chelsey covers a vast array of subjects "¦ and delivers her services in a cheerful, capable manner, regularly going above and beyond to help her students."

In addition to that work, she is a member of the Wildcat Events Board and the Sign Language Club, attended the recent National Association for Campus Activities Conference in lieu of a "traditional" Spring Break, participated in the Volunteer Tax Assistance Program, was recognized as an Awesome Woman Exemplar and served as an Open House volunteer at the college.

"I can think of no better ambassador to all of the opportunities Penn College provides," the nominator continued.

The Student of the Month is selected seven times each academic year based on commitment, service, role-model behavior, academics, leadership and campus involvement. Nominations from faculty/staff and other students are strongly encouraged when the process resumes in the fall.
