Devin Croyle, Robert Duda, Andrew Bomberger and Andrew Hoover work as a team to bring pieces of the table together. The program, in which residents built picnic tables, was organized by four Resident Assistants who are in majors within the School of Construction and Design Technologies: Louis (Chip) Rizzo III, Kaitlyn Charmbury, Anthony Grubbs and Benaiah Tucci. Also on hand was William T. Goddard, associate professor of construction technology, who offeredinsights and shared with students his wealth of life experience.

The goal of the on-campus living experience at Penn College is to provide tangible avenues in which students can become a part of and make contributions to their living community and to teach students skills that they may not acquire in their specific course of study. This program focused on teaching basic carpentry skills to students in nonconstruction-related majors.

"It was really great to have the residents come out and get some hands-on experience," Rizzo said, "It was very fulfilling, for me, to show them what we were building on paper and watch them make a drawing into a picnic table."

In terms of community, Kaitlyn Charmbury commented, "I think that we all had a great afternoon spending the day outside working together to build something for our community in which we live."

Residents participating were Kyle Baker, Andrew Hoover, Alexandra Davis, Scott Kondrad, Dean Stuffle, Chase Ritter, Richard Mangum, Andrew Bomberger, Robert Duda, Devin Croyle, Israel Laguer (Rose Street coordinator) and Larissa Kryder.

Residence Life extends a warm "Thank you" to the RAs and involved students for adding to the landscape of our campus community.
