'Breaking the Glass Ceiling' Panel Discussion to Be Held April 8

"Breaking the Glass Ceiling," a panel discussion addressing issues faced by women in business, will be presented April 8 at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is being sponsored by several student organizations at the College: Students in Free Enterprise, Phi Beta Lambda and Women in Technology. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Thompson Professional Development Center.
Panelists for the event will be Jean Buckley, president and chief executive officer, Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda Inc.; Michael Rafferty, mayor of Williamsport; Patricia Rafferty, owner, Vannucci Foto & Video; Caryn Powers, owner of a medical billing company; Andree Phillips, owner, Radiant Steel Products Co.; and Glorya Reese, a pioneering television newswoman who started at WBRE-TV.
Topics to be covered include: balancing a career and family, family leave, differences in salaries for men and women, Equal Employment Opportunity issues, and help for women entering business fields. The panelists also will answer questions from the audience.
Students in Free Enterprise provides leadership training, regional competitions and career-opportunity fairs for thousands of college students in 33 countries. Phi Beta Lambda, a national organization for students interested in preparing for careers in business, is the college level of Future Business Leaders of America. Women in Technology provides support and education for women enrolled in male-dominated technology career fields.
