‘Blue Out’ Doubleheader Opens Wildcat Basketball Season

A tribute to veterans and a Penn College “Blue Out” were among the attractions at Monday’s opening night of Wildcat basketball season in Bardo Gym. The evening featured a doubleheader against the University of Pittsburgh-Titusville, starting with the women’s game at 6 p.m., a “thunder stick” giveaway and the chance for a student to win a $200 declining-balance meal plan from Dining Services. The men’s team took the court at 8; the second game included more “thunder sticks,” a Veterans Day recognition at halftime, T-shirts for veterans and free American flags to the first 100 fans. The Dance Team performed at halftime of each game, before an audience encouraged to wear Blue Crew (or similarly colored) T-shirts to “turn the stands blue.”
