Lycoming County Big Read 2007 and the ever-growing "shoe display" at Penn College's Madigan Library are featured in a six-minute news story that aired on WVYA (89.7 FM). The piece was prepared by Brad L. Nason, assistant professor of mass communications, from an interview with Lynne H. Koskie, library circulation assistant, who arranged the compelling display to illustrate a quote from "To Kill a Mockingbird," this year's countywide "Big Read" selection: "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view until you climb into his skin and walk around in it." A related event was held Saturday at Borders bookstore at the Lycoming Mall, where a Community Read-a-Thon invited the collegecommunity to read passages from the Pulitzer Prize-winning book. Music was provided by Jonah Gregory, winner of the 2006 Billtown Blues Challenge.
