'Cat Tales Men's BasketballWith six players scoring in double digits, the Wildcat men topped the century mark in a 103-80 season-opening win over Central Penn. Joe Simon (Renovo) led the offensive outburst with 21 points while Neil Baskerville (East Stroudsburg) and Greg Solyak (Lancaster) followed with 16 each. Williamsporter Leroy Joiner added 14 points to the cause; Tom Little (Beacon Falls, Conn.) scored 12; and Craig Flint (Port Allegany) 11. Stepping into Penn State University Athletic Conference action late in the week, Penn College took care of Penn State York in good fashion. Flint scored 21 points, Joiner added 17, and Little and Solyak scored 3 each. Joiner had 12 rebounds.Women's BasketballIn its first two games, against Central Penn and Valley Forge Christian College, the Lady Wildcats dominated, allowing just 28 points in each contest while winning by margins of 61 and 51 points, respectively. Erica Logan (Montoursville) scored 23 points against Central Penn, while Kelsey Mack (Douglasville) chipped in with 16 and April Gallagher (Avis) had 14. The Penn College women continued to roll as they began Penn State University Athletic Conference play with a win over Penn State York. Casey Braun (Hughesville) scored 14 points, while Logan and Arlaya Morris each added 13. Mack had 15 of the team's 50 rebounds.
