'Cat TalesMen's Basketball Poor shooting from the field just 26 percent proved costly for the Wildcats in their loss to intracity rival Lycoming College. Matt Melusky (Minersville) was the only Penn College player to score in double figures with 12. Nick Reynolds (Athens) grabbed seven rebounds.

Through its first 12 games heading into the semester break, Penn College is averaging 75.2 points per game on offense and allowing 74.3. The Wildcats have lost their last four games, all against established NCAA Division III programs.

Melusky leads all Penn College scorers with a 14.1 points per game average while Tony Flint (Port Allegany) is averaging 11 ppg, Reynolds 10.5 and Preston Peterson (Williamsport) 9.6.

The Wildcats are idle until Jan. 7, when they return to Penn State University-Athletic Conference action hosting Penn State Beaver at Bardo Gym. Penn College is 5-1 in the PSU-AC.

Women's BasketballThrough eight games going into the semester break, the Penn College women are averaging 61.8 points per game on offense and allowing 63.6. Katlyn Stupar (State College) leads the offense with an 18.3 points per game scoring average while Brittany Blessard (Renovo) is averaging 13.5 ppg.

The Lady Wildcats are idle until Jan. 10 when they host Division III Centenary. In Penn State University-Athletic Conference play; Penn College is still unbeaten with a 4-0 record.
