Students entering Northampton Community College and enrolling in the construction management associate degree program will benefit from a recently signed agreement establishing a clear and efficient path to complete a bachelor’s degree in construction management at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

After completing a strong foundation at NCC, students will have the opportunity to continue the career ladder at Penn College and complete course work in advanced estimating, cost control and mechanical systems, with a strong focus on project management. The Penn College program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education.

“The signing of the articulation agreement with Penn College gives NCC graduates an accessible entry point for their academic careers,” said Denise Francois-Seeny, dean of business and technology at Northampton. “I am so very positive about making a smooth transition and a clear pathway from Northampton to Pennsylvania College of Technology. The end result for our students – collectively NCC and now with Penn College – is they will not have to experience duplication in learning. We are pleased knowing that our students are able to continue their academic careers at a school with strong values and a record of success.”

“A continued educational opportunity at Penn College for Northampton Community College students is a significant win for all involved,” said Marc E. Bridgens, dean of construction and design technologies at Penn College. “The articulation agreement provides a benefit to the student, the industry and both institutions. Being the next step in the lifelong learning process is exciting. We are pleased to enter into this agreement with NCC and look forward to great student success of which both institutions can be proud.”

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, construction manager positions are expected to increase by 16 percent through 2022.
