Aviation Students Featured in National Magazine

    The September issue of Avionics News includes mention of two Penn College aviation maintenance technology majors in the "Theory & Practice" column contributed by Thomas D. Inman, associate professor of avionics. Seniors Gregory B. Gilliland, of Franklin, and Winfield H. Mapes, of Lancaster, were quoted about the importance of information literacy for the aviation technician. Both students spoke about using maintenance manuals on the job during their internship experiences: Gilliland with the CJ Systems Aviation Group in West Mifflin, and Mapes at Duncan Aviation, in Battle Creek, Mich. Avionics News is the monthly publication of the Aircraft Electronics Association.
