Assistant Dean Invited to Return to Alma Mater for Panel Discussion

Thomas C. Heffner, assistant dean of sciences, humanities and visual communications: programs at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been invited to return to his alma mater, Juniata College, to join the Education Department Alumni Panel on Oct. 25 as part of Juniata’s Homecoming and Family Weekend festivities.

Each fall, Juniata’s Alumni Office and academic departments identify distinguished graduates and invite them to return to campus to share their experiences with other alumni, current students and families.



Thomas C. HeffnerHeffner earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood from Juniata in 1995. While there, he played soccer for four years and was a member of Juniata Instructors of the Future. Heffner also holds a Master of Education in child and family studies: early education, as well as North Carolina state birth-kindergarten licensure from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

He is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the North Carolina Association for the Education of Young Children (for which he served as a state board member from 2007-10) and the Council for Exceptional Children. He has served as a textbook reviewer for McGraw Hill and Pearson Allyn & Bacon, and as a peer reviewer for NAEYC.
