Brigid Marlin talks about the roots of the Society for the Art of Imagination. The society defines 'Art of Imagination' as art that is not abstract but is also not realistic. The artist conducts a workshop on campus "Where Science Meets Art," an exhibit by members of the London-based Society for Art of Imagination, opened to the public in the college gallery, Madigan Library 303, at 11 a.m. June 22. At 7:30 p.m., in Room 1056 of the Student and Administrative Services Center, Brigid Marlin, the first person given an audience to paint an official portrait of the Dalai Lama, led a lively talk, sharing her experiences and some of the photographs she took during her trek to Tibet. Marlin, chairman and founder of the Society for Art of Imagination, spoke to a group during a pre-opening reception at the gallery June 21 and conducted a workshop on June 23.
