Artist’s Reception Formally Opens Sculpture Exhibit


Photographer's keen eye adds to gallery artistry Sculptor Douglas Tausik Tactile texture begs public's touch Patron ponders artist's perspective Attentive summer crowd attends exhibit's opening The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Madigan Library, presents “ Bodies Under Pressure,” a collection of sculptures by Douglas Tausik, through Aug. 21. The gallery hosted a Meet the Artist Reception, with comments from Tausik, on Thursday evening. Through July 31, the gallery is open from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. Regular hours resume Aug. 1, when the gallery is open 1-4 p.m. Sunday; 2-7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday. The gallery will close Saturday and Monday; all exhibits are free and open to the public. (While in the library, check out the “ Intruding Umbrellas” exhibit in the atrium downstairs.)
