Kotecki, president of the American Welding Society, toured the School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies and the School of Transportation Technology at Penn College on April 5. He is scheduled to take part in an awards dinner for winners of the Central Pennsylvania Section of the American Welding Society's welding contest for secondary and postsecondary students. The contest was held at Penn College in March. Kotecki is technical director for stainless and high alloy product development at Lincoln Electric. He holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering and has served as chair of several AWS and Welding Research Council committees, and is a vice president of the International Institute of Welding.
