Alumnus/Former Administrator to Lead South Carolina College


Thomas C. LeitzelA college alumnus and former administrator has been chosen as president of the Technical College of the Lowcountry, Beaufort, S.C. Thomas C. Leitzel earned an associate degree in business management at Williamsport Area Community College (a Penn College forerunner) in 1976. He was the evening and weekend coordinatorin the college’s Business and Computer Science Division from 1981-83 and assistant director for business and computer technologies from 1983-85. Leitzel holdsa bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lycoming College, a master’s in education from Temple University and a doctorate in community and junior college education from Virginia Tech. A Harrisburg native, he most recently served as vice president of graduate enrollment at Pfeiffer University’s Charlotte, S.C., campus. More about his selection as president is available online.
