Alumnus Honored at Chamber’s ‘Education Celebration’

Alumni honoree Raymond Marshalek, center, is joined by Barry R. Stiger, vice president for institutional advancement at Penn College, and Valerie L. Fessler, the college's director of alumni relations Raymond Marshalek, who graduated from Penn College forerunner Williamsport Technical Institute in 1955, received an Alumni of the Year Award during the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce’s ninth annual Education Celebration on Thursday. The event honored students and educators from across Lycoming County, as well as alumni from Penn College and Lycoming College who stayed in the area and have made a positive impact on the community. Marshalek is the owner of Fairfield Manufacturing Co. Inc. in Montoursville. He served on the college’s Automated Manufacturing Advisory Committee and is a member of several community organizations; his son, John, is an instructor of machine tool technology/automated manufacturing at Penn College.
