Alumnus, Faculty Present Papers at International Conferences

An alumnus and two faculty members of Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Business and Computer Technologies wrote papers that were presented at two international conferences in Orlando, Fla.
Ryan K. Zimmerman, who graduated summa cum laude in Fall 2005 with a degree in computer information technology-data communications and networking, co-wrote the papers with Donald E. Gustafson and Asesh K. Das. Zimmerman, that semester's commencement speaker and winner of the President's Award and the Information Technology Faculty Award, now works for Intrada Technologies, Williamsport.
Their first paper, "Storyboarding Leads to Prototype Studies on CMMI Level 2," was presented by Gustafson, assistant professor of business administration-management information systems, at the 10th World Multiconference on Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics.
The second, "Studies on Abstractions With Storyboarding and Metrics in Prototype Development Projects," was presented by Das, a professor of computer science, at the Fourth International Conference on Computing, Communications and Control Technologies.
Storyboarding often is used by teachers or multimedia designers to integrate concepts and items in an ordered way. Following IBM's track, the authors of these papers developed model approaches in which storyboarding becomes an integral part in product development and software engineering activities.
