Act 101 Academic and Career Specialist Presents Workshop at Annual Conference

Henriette K. EvansHenriette K. Evans, Act 101 academic and career specialist at Pennsylvania College of Technology, presented a workshop at the 2007 annual conference for the Pennsylvania Association of Developmental Educators held at Hershey on April 18-20.

The workshop was titled "Peer Tutors and Tutees: Assignment and Retention."

The theme of this year's conference was "Making the Case for Developmental Education."

Evans discussed how to make the best use of resources in developmental education faculty members, peer tutors and tutees.She offered some recruiting, training and retention strategies, while also sharing successful approaches for one-on-one peer tutor/tutee assignments, particularly for developmental classes.
