THON Donations Enhance Blood Drive's Life-Saving Potential

    Blood drive nets 227 pints for Red Cross, $908 for THONThis week's two-day campus visit by the Red Cross Bloodmobile collected 227 pints (120 on Tuesday and 107 the following afternoon), topping the 190-unit goal in spite of a Wednesday snowstorm. The Red Cross contributed $4 to the fight against pediatric cancer on behalf of each successful donor, so Penn College Benefiting THON will receive $908. Donors were also entered into a drawing for one of three hourlong massages in College Health Services; winners were students Alicia A. Brant, Tyler D. Hodge and Zachary D. Reese. Also helping the cause were Papa John's, which provided pizza, and Weis Markets, which supplied baked goods for the post-donation canteen.
