Penn College Professor Presents at National Computing Conference

A Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member presented at a recent national conference devoted to computer instructors.
Lisa R. Bock, assistant professor of computer information technology, led a session during the 19th annual Course Technology Computing Conference in Nashville, Tenn. Her presentation focused on packet analysis, the process of analyzing traffic over a digital network.
During the hands-on presentation, Bock reviewed fundamental concepts necessary to analyze network traffic, examined packet captures to distinguish between normal and potentially harmful network activity, and demonstrated Wireshark, a network protocol analyzer for Unix and Windows.
Bock, a native of Middletown, N.Y., and a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School, holds a master’s degree from the University of Maryland University College and a bachelor’s degree from Penn College. She joined the Penn College faculty in 2003 and teaches networking and security courses.
