Terry A. GirdonTerry A. Girdon, professor of management at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently visited the Institute of Management Technology in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for a site accreditation visit.

The IMT is one of India's leading business colleges and recently completed its expansion into the UAE with a campus complex that includes classrooms, dormitories, dining facilities, a library, recreation areas and administrative buildings. The purpose of Girdon's January trip was to serve as team leader for assessment of that school's MBA program on behalf of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education.

The IACBE is a specialized accrediting association for business programs that lead to degrees, at both the undergraduate and graduate level, at institutions of higher education around the world. This was the fourth international accreditation trip for Girdon, who previously conducted site visits to the American Business School and the Paris Graduate School of Management in Paris; to LaSalle University in Barcelona, Spain; and to the European University branch campuses in Geneva and Montreux, Switzerland.

Girdon chairs the board of directors of the IACBE, one of three business-degree accrediting bodies for colleges and universities worldwide. The assembly has grown to more than 200 members in the United States and throughout the world since its founding in 1997.

All of the business and accounting degree programs at the Penn College have been fully accredited by the IACBE since 1998.

Girdon holds a doctorate from Rutgers University, master's degrees from St. Lawrence University and Boston University, and a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware.
