Northcentral PA Art Teachers to Exhibit Work at Penn College Gallery

Regional art educators will exhibit their work in The Gallery at Penn College from May 20 to June 27.The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Madigan Library, will host "The Art of Education," featuring work by art teachers in K-12 schools in northcentral Pennsylvania, from May 20 to June 27.

Thirty-one teachers will exhibit their work during the gallery's tribute to the talented educators who inspire creativity and instill an appreciation for art in young people. The invitational exhibit features the work of art teachers from Bradford, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Northumberland, Potter and Sullivan counties.

Artwork in all media is included in this comprehensive exhibit, and prizes will be awarded to the top entries. Serving as juror will be Deb Stabley, an artist from the Bloomsburg area. Visitors to the exhibit are invited to vote for the Viewer's Choice Award.

An opening reception for the exhibit will take place in the gallery from 4 to 6 p.m. on May 20.

Line Mountain School District: Sandra Ellen Kessler, Herndon.

Loyalsock Township School District: Paul T. Barrett, Hughesville.

Millville School District: Steven Ritter, Milton.

Milton Area School District: Marilyn Paul, Northumberland.

Wyalusing Area School District: Jeffrey Overman, Wyalusing.

Gallery hours through May 31 are Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 2 to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. All exhibits are free and open to the public. The gallery is closed Memorial Day Weekend, May 29-30.

Summer hours, which begin June 1, are Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m.; and Tuesday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
