Commencement Set for Dec. 21 at Penn College

Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold a commencement ceremony Saturday, Dec. 21, for the nearly 300 students who have petitioned to graduate at the end of the Fall 2013 semester.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. in the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.

The student speaker is Eric Jay Palanko, of Latrobe, who will be awarded a bachelor’s degree in legal assistant/paralegal studies. Palanko is also the recipient of the President’s Award, presented for leadership and service to the college.



Gerri F. Luke, the 2013 Veronica M. Muzic Master Teacher Award recipient and professor of business administration/management and marketing at the college, will also speak.

During the ceremony, Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour will present an Alumni Achievement Award.

She will be joined by state Sen. Gene Yaw, R-Loyalsock Township, who also serves as chairman of the Penn College Board of Directors, as she confers degrees and certificates upon the graduates.

A degree in landscape/horticulture technology: plant production emphasis will be awarded posthumously to Christopher J. Ginter and accepted by his parents.
