Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer an Open House on Sunday, Oct. 28, affording prospective students and their families the opportunity to explore the college’s diverse academic programs, participate in a range of activities and tour the modern campus, including classrooms, labs, residence halls and dining facilities.
Open House activities will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the main campus in Williamsport; free transportation will also be provided to and from the college’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center near Allenwood and the Lumley Aviation Center at the Williamsport Regional Airport in Montoursville.
“Recent reports indicate companies are facing a shortage of 600,000 educated and skilled employees in the coming few years at all levels of their organizations, and that is what makes Penn College’s Open House so exciting to experience,” said Dennis L. Correll, associate dean for admissions and financial aid. “Once you see our labs, classrooms, dining facilities and residence halls, you will quickly understand what distinguishes Penn College for future graduates.”
“Our students learn alongside industry-experienced faculty, using the latest equipment and technologies, no matter what the field of study,” Correll continued. “If you visit Penn College, you will know this is the right place for your education and future career.”
Open House visitors may participate in a variety of activities at the college, which is a special mission affiliate of The Pennsylvania State University and a national leader in applied technology education.
Open House activities include:
- Attending information sessions to learn more about the admissions process, financial aid, and academic programs and procedures
- Attending a “Choosing Your Major” session for help with selecting a career path
- Touring the campus and viewing the state-of-the-art facilities and equipment
- Meeting with faculty and school deans to learn more about academic majors representing more than 100 career areas
