Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering a basic welding course for Spring 2015.

The 40-hour program consists of eight five-hour training sessions that will help participants begin to develop highly marketable career-path skills.

Familiarity with the four basic welding processes – oxy-fuel, shielded-metal arc, gas metal arc and gas tungsten arc – will be enhanced through hands-on practice with a strong emphasis on safety.

The sessions will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays (Feb. 28; March 7, 14, 21, 28; and April 11, 18 and 25). Instruction will be held in the Avco-Lycoming Metal Trades Center on Penn College’s main campus in Williamsport. The cost is $749.
